After so many months of carefree living, it was about time to confront the four horsepersons and their burdens of plague, pestilence, famine and war.  My apologies for such a downer.
This CD covers a bit of the world unpleasantness between September 2001 and March 2002, from the significant events to the most trivial.  "Wrong Way To Hollywood" is dedicated to Marc Moreland, and the rest of the CD is dedicated to my sisters in drag.  Extra special thanks to Dan, Jen and Drew for support and fun times.
All tracks were written and performed by Muffy St. Bernard and copyright DangerMuff Enterproses (except "Wrong Way To Hollywood," written by Chas T. Gray / Marc Moreland / Andy Prieboy).  Everything was recorded on the diabolical LadyMac in Amrita-ta-ta studio, sometimes near fruit flies and cat vomit.

This MUTE was very much the product of a bad state of mind.  It was started using sources recorded on September 11th, and ended up including a lot of other details: the death of Marc Moreland (guitar genius of Wall Of Voodoo), ongoing and seemingly impossible fighting in the Middle East, and -- to bring things closer to home -- a horrific fruit fly infestation that left me frazzled and dazed for far too long.  Drosophobia ended up being a sort of update of Pleasure Pain Fighting Rose.

Most of the sources are heard here for the first time, though "The Spontaneous Generation" was an unused holdover from the Drabbletales master tapes.  It couldn't be saved with the equipment I had then, but a bit of digital editing turned it around quite nicely.  "Wrong Way To Hollywood" was a somewhat scruffy cover of a Wall Of Voodoo B-Side.
