material at the beginning and/or end)
MS - Missing Scene (A scene that is NOT in the Workprint version)
AT - Alternate Take (similar to the released version, but obviously a different take of the scene)
LD - Looped Dialogue (this is an original dialogue line, before it was changed for the released

AD - Audible Director (you can hear Dan O'Bannon shouting directions)
| MS / LD: The Yellow Man | As Frank, Freddy and Bert talk about what happened, the Yellow Man's vocalizations are done by somebody off-camera saying "Mmmmm!" Many shots are missing when the Yellow Man attacks Bert, and when they tie him down the dialogue is shuffled around a bit. There are no scenes of Bert's saw actually cutting through flesh, but you do see Bert cutting with a saw that has no blade in it. |
| DS: The Mausoleum | Spider, Casey and Scuzz look into a mausoleum (right after the "Gimme the
bone saw" line): SCUZZ: Oh, Jesus, look inside here. It's all beer cans and stuff. SPIDER: Oh, man! I don't EVER wanna be buried in THIS place. CASEY: {Screams when Scuzz creeps up on her} Scuzz, you're such a dork {she hits him}. SCUZZ: Ow. |
| TS: Respect For The Dead | Suicide has "will ya" added to the end of his line ("Show some fuckin' respect for the dead, will ya?") |
| ES / AT: Ernie And The Corpse | This scene is much, much longer than the released version, showing Ernie preparing the corpse. He inserts a large clamp before putting the tube in the stomach opening, wipes his bloody hands on his overalls, puts some sort of rubber block under the corpse's chin, staples its cheeks, applies some makeup to its face, and turns on a very loud machine. All of this is from a long view in one cut, with no close-ups. Later, when Frank and Freddy bring in the stretcher, they mutter with Bert a bit about where to put it. |
| LD: Some Party | Instead of saying "Fuck you, ballbuster," Suicide says "Fuck you, chocolate face." |
| TS: Walk To The Warehouse | Tina's walk to the warehouse is much longer. |
| TS / AT: Explaining To Ernie | This is an alternate take of Ernie deciding whether or not to allow them to use the crematorium. Freddy is playing with a piece of equipment, which Ernie grabs away from him. When Ernie walks out to set up the furnace, Bert slaps Frank on the arms in a congratulatory way. |
| ES / MS: The Crematorium | As Ernie lights the furnace, Bert makes "oooh" and "ahhh" noises. As they load the furnace, Ernie and Bert make noises of disgust. When Frank says he could operate the furnace himself, Freddy asks "but who'd want to?" There is a longer shot of the furnace operating, the the FX of the smoke leaving the chimney, entering the clouds, and causing the lightning are replaced by storyboards. |
| TS: Tina Outside The Door | Before Tina opens the warehouse door, you see her jump as though she's surprised by the rain. |
| MS: Water In The Grave | The water seeping into the ground and dripping into the casket is replaced with a storyboard. |
| AT: Frank & Freddy Sick | The dialogue is similar, but it's an alternate take. |
| ES: The Embalming Room | There is additional dialogue during this scene. When Ernie goes to call the paramedics, Bert says to Frank, "It's alright, how do you feel now? Are you really under?" Before Ernie is connected to the paramedics, he dials information for the number: "Can I have the phone number of the city paramedics. Ah, umm, Emergency Medical Services. Uh, that number please? Thank you!" |
| ES / MS: View Of The Graveyard | After Casey asks if they can hear anything, there is a much longer "camera roam" through the graveyard. There are no shots of hands digging out of the ground. |
| ES / AD: Tarman And Lisa | This entire scene is longer. Lisa calls out more, asking if anybody is there. The Director says "Noise" to get her attention to the basement door. There is a shot of her reluctantly deciding to enter the basement. The scene of the Tarman emerging from the shadows is longer, as is the scene of him climbing the steps. When Tina falls, she lies and crawls around much longer before entering the closet. There are more shots of the struggle with the closet door (the Director says "Pipe" to prompt her to lock the door with the pipe), and shots of the Tarman pulling the chain to the door and then walking back to the winch. While in the closet, Tina yells "Freddy!" |
| TS: Leaving Suicide's Car | The scene showing the punks leaving Sucide's car is longer. |
| TS / MS: Rescuing Tina | When Scuzz yells for Tina, she yells "Scuzz, help me! Oh God, I'm in the cellar!" There is no shot of the Tarman biting into Suicide's head, and there is an additional shot of them running back up the steps, seen from above. |
